A stretch of scorching summer weather is fueling wildfire concerns across Southern California as firefighters battle a series of brush fires that have erupted across the region in recent days. Temperatures between 90 and 100 degrees were expected across much of the region Sunday,

Multiple agencies responded to the Timber Fire burning in the Los Padres National Forest. The fire grew to 100 acres overnight.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection announced that it had found a deceased individual along the path of the Gann Fire.

The fire, sparked by a saw, has killed one person, scorched more than 10,000 acres and destroyed 33 structures since it began Monday.

The Bryson Fire has burned approximately 7 acres, according to a CAL FIRE spokesperson. The fire is burning in an area described as “the flats.”
